Men’s Basketball Moves Up to No. 13 in NABC Coaches Poll

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Men's Basketball team comes in at No. 13 in this week's edition of the NABC Coaches Poll Top-25.

West Alabama (22-3, 17-2 GSC) remains the only GSC team within the Top-25 after taking care of business on the road this past week, with double-digit wins coming over Union and Christian Brothers.

The Tigers have now accumulated 15 double-digit wins on the year which is more total wins than they had all of last year.

UWA continues to be one of the best rebounding teams in the country, out-rebounding teams by an average of 9.5 board per game. That marks leads the GSC and ranks fifth in the nation. Christian Thompson is one of the top rebounders in Division II as he ranks 11th in the country with 10.2 rebounds per game.

With BJ Brown Jr. running the offense, the Tigers are averaging 9.8 turnovers per game which is the fourth least per game in all of Division II. Brown Jr. himself is 10th in the country in assists with 5.7 per game.

West Alabama will return home on Thursday for a matchup against Montevallo at 7:30 p.m. With a win, the Tigers will be outright GSC Regular Season Championship for the first time since the 2021-22 season.
