Men’s Basketball Moves Up to No. 11 in NABC Coaches Poll

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Men's Basketball team moved up to No. 11 in this week's edition of the NABC Coaches Poll top-25.

West Alabama (24-3, 19-2 GSC) comes in at the No. 11 spot after extending their winning streak to six games with victories over Montevallo and AUM.

With their 12-point win over the Falcons on Thursday, the Tigers officially became the GSC Regular Season Champions. UWA will play as the host for their GSC Quarterfinals and Semifinals matchup before hosting the GSC Championship Game on March 8 if they take care of business in their first two GSC Tournament matchups.

As we enter the final week of regular season Basketball, West Alabama remains in the top-10 nationally in rebounding margin and turnover per game. With Christian Thompson leading the way, snagging 10.3 rebounds per game, the Tigers rank sixth in the country with a 9.9 rebounding margin. BJ Brown Jr. and Travion McCray conduct the offense and have done a phenomenal job at limiting turnovers. Only three teams in the country turn the ball over less than West Alabama as they rank fourth nationally with 9.6 turnovers per game.

No. 11 UWA will conclude their 2025-26 regular season on Friday with a matchup against UAH that's set for 7:30 p.m.
