LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Women's Tennis' Jian Ibrahim was named the GSC Freshman of the Week on Wednesday by the conference. 

Ibrahim notched the first GSC Weekly Award of her career after leading West Alabama to a 3-0 weekend at UT Tyler's Invitational. 

The Tigers defeated No. 12 Midwestern State, UT Tyler, and Cameron, with Ibrahim going a perfect 3-0 in singles play in all three matches. The true freshman won all of her matches in straight sets, showcasing her dominance.

Against Midwestern State, Ibrahim secured a (6-4, 6-4) win over Jasmine Crain, before defeating UT Tyler's Maria Antonio Ortega, (6-1, 7-6). To cap off the week, the freshman took care of Cameron's Adel Ismagulova, (6-2, 6-2).

On the year, Ibrahim is now 4-4 in singles play.
