MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of West Alabama Rodeo team completed UT Martin's Rodeo on Saturday.

West Alabama's Women's team placed third with 145 points while the Men's team finished fourth with 375 points.

WOMEN'S RODEO: 145 Points

Madison Murphy, Millie Joe Rosenberg, Sydney Poole, Darby Toole, Erin McLaughlin, and Andi Norwood all made it to the Championship Round for the Tigers. 

Murphy and Rosenberg led the way as both shined in the Barrel Racing. Murphy accumulated the most points amongst UWA representatives as the junior recorded 135 points which stands as the second most in the event. For Rosenberg, she registered 105 points to add to West Alabama's total.

Norwood was excellent in the Breakaway Roping, turning in 130 points. McLaughlin and Toole also joined Norwood in the Championship Round as they combined for 70 points to help the Tigers to a third place finish.

MEN'S RODEO: 375 Points

Tanner Brown, Clarke Gordon, Kota Wilhite, Stone Reeves, Teigan Orr, Evan Bourdon, and Austin Brooks competed on Championship Saturday for UWA. 

Brown and Gordon continue to excel in the Team Roping event as the duo accumulated 110 points to add to their season total of 670 which leads the Region. Wilhite and Reeves advanced to the Championship Round in the Tie Down Roping and combined for 135 points, with Wilhite securing 70 while Reeves accrued 65 points. 

Orr and Bourdon represented West Alabama in the Steer Wrestling. Orr recorded 85 points while Bourdon added 20. As for Brooks, he competed in the Team Roping, teaming up with NWMSCC's Trey Lee Weekly to record 10 points.

West Alabama Rodeo will return to action next week for Arkansas Tech's rodeo which is set to begin on Thursday in Russellville, Arkansas.
