LIVINGSTON, Ala. — For the second consecutive week, the University of West Alabama softball team's Ann Marie Stanbridge has been named the GSC Player of the Week.
Stanbridge repeats as the conference's Player of the Week after a tremendous week at the plate that included multiple broken school records.
In five games against Miles and No. 15 West Florida, the senior hit .461 with three home runs and seven RBIs. In UWA's series against the Argonauts, Stanbridge went 5-for-9 at the plate, with three of those hits being home runs.
In Game Two against UWF, Stanbridge broke West Alabama's all-time career RBI record and now stands alone at the top with 186 RBIs. She continued her record-breaking performance in Game Three, setting a new school record for career home runs with 46.
On the season, the first baseman/pitcher is batting .333 with six home runs and 27 RBIs along with a 2.83 ERA in the circle.
Stanbridge and the Tigers will return to action on Wednesday when they host Columbus State for a 2:00 p.m. midweek doubleheader.
