LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Women's Tennis' Shaira Rivera was named the GSC Player of the Week on Wednesday. 

Rivera led UWA to a 2-1 week, with wins coming over Christian Brothers and Valdosta State.

The senior put together a combined 5-0 record on the week, going 3-0 in doubles and 2-0 in singles play.

Against No. 7 Mississippi College, Rivera defeated Emily Buchanan/Ann Cabot Stockett in doubles, 6-3 with her partner, Alexa Milliam. In singles action, Rivera defeated Buchanan in three sets, (6-2, 5-7, 7-5) in a thriller on Line One.

The senior only competed in doubles against Christian Brothers and took home a, 6-2, victory alongside Milliam. 

Rivera finished off the week with another flawless performance against Valdosta State. In doubles, the senior won 6-3 on Line One before closing out the match with a (6-3, 6-4) victory over VSU's Lena Beckx.

Rivera and the Tigers gear up for their final home match on Saturday as they welcome Wallace State for Senior Day.
