LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama women's tennis team returns home for a 2:00 p.m. matchup against Christian Brothers on Friday at the Vaughan Tennis Complex.
No. 4 West Alabama (14-4, 3-2 GSC) enters Friday's contest after falling to No. 7 Mississippi College, 4-3, on Wednesday. Christian Brothers (0-9-1, 0-5 GSC) has not competed since March 24 due to injuries. In their last outing, the Bucs suffered a 6-1 loss to Delta State.
Despite the narrow loss to Mississippi College, UWA remains one of the top teams in the country. The Tigers' duo of Shaira Rivera and Alexa Milliam rank among the nation's best, sitting in the top five in doubles and within the top 15 in singles.
In doubles play, Rivera and Milliam are ranked No. 4 nationally and hold a 10-1 record on Line One. Nanoka Kazama and Greta Zawels have also been a strong pairing, bringing an 8-3 record into Friday's match.
Rivera and Milliam anchor Lines One and Two in singles. Rivera is ranked ninth in the nation with a 10-6 record, while Milliam is ranked 14th and has won three of her last four matches. Valentina Mutilba continues to impress on Line Three with an 8-3 record. Freshman Jian Ibrahim has put together a solid campaign on Line Four, posting a 9-7 singles record.
The Tigers are also strong on Lines Five and Six with Nanoka Kazama and Jenaila Prulla. The pair has combined for a 27-2 singles record, with Prulla remaining undefeated at 14-0 and Kazama holding a 13-2 mark.
Christian Brothers has struggled during the 2026 season, with injuries contributing to its 0-9-1 record.
