EMPORIA, Kan. - Freshman sensation J'Da Williams shined for the University of West Alabama Track and Field program at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Nationals on Saturday.
Williams placed fifth in the 100m event with a time of 11.46. Williams' time of 11.46 is the second fastest amongst freshman while also being the second best of her career. With her fifth-place placement, Williams is automatically deemed an All-American and is one of two freshman in the 100m to earn this distinction.
With the results of Saturday's Championships, the freshman clearly stamped her status as one of the top track athletes in the country.
Alongside Williams, Dedric Hicks competed in the Shot Put event. Hicks recorded a throw of 16.27m to conclude his first trip to the NCAA National Championships.
With their historic 2026 campaigns now in the rear view mirror, Williams and Hicks both solidified their status as two of the best in school history in their respective events.
