LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Capping off one of the most dominant offensive seasons in program history, Selis Demirci of the University of West Alabama women's soccer team has been named to the 2025 D2CCA All-South Region First Team, the association announced on Tuesday.
The senior forward becomes one of the region's top selections after a remarkable final campaign in the Red and White, adding another major accolade to her standout career.
Demirci led the Gulf South Conference in scoring with 12 goals, showcasing her consistency and ability to change matches in an instant. She started all 18 games for the Tigers, adding two assists for a total of 26 points, and proved to be one of the most dangerous attacking players in Division II. Her efficiency in the final third was evident with 51 total shots, 23 on goal, and an impressive seven game-winning goals, the most in the GSC this season.
This regional honor adds to an already decorated year for Demirci, who was previously named First Team All-GSC and earned a spot on the GSC All-Tournament Team earlier this month after helping lead UWA to the conference semifinals.
Demirci's recognition solidifies her place among the elite midfielders in the South Region and marks another milestone achievement for UWA women's soccer as the program continues its rise within Division II.
