LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama men's soccer team returns to the road Saturday, September 26, traveling to Mobile, Alabama, to take on Spring Hill College in Gulf South Conference action. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
The Tigers enter the matchup with a 3-5-1 overall record and a 1-2-0 mark in GSC play after earning a 4-0 shutout victory over Delta State on Wednesday.
Tigers' Offense
West Alabama enters Saturday having scored 26 goals through nine matches, while holding opponents to 16 goals. The Tigers have also outshot their opponents 113-89 and hold a 68-44 advantage in shots on goal.
Senior forward David Nunez continues to lead the Tigers offensively and added two goals and an assist in Wednesday's victory over Delta State. Nunez now has 10 goals, four assists and 24 points on 29 shots with 18 shots on goal this season.
Nunez currently ranks first in Division II in both goals scored and points earned. He is also tied for first all-time at West Alabama in career goals and sits just three points away from breaking the program's all-time points record.
Jesper Bakli has added four goals and three assists for 11 points, while Florian Laot has three goals and four assists for 10 points. Oisin Griffin has two goals and an assist, while Daniele Ciarlesi has added two goals.
West Alabama has also received goals from Mitchel Waycott, Mathias Ibanez, Jack Porter and Ethan Sharpe.
Between the Posts
Dan Erez has started all nine matches in goal for the Tigers, recording 28 saves with a .651 save percentage and a 1.77 goals-against average. Erez has allowed 15 goals while posting one shutout and owns a 3-5-1 record.
Scouting Spring Hill
Spring Hill enters Saturday's matchup with a 0-4-1 overall record and a 0-3-0 mark in GSC play.
The Badgers have scored one goal through five matches while allowing 11. Spring Hill has recorded 34 shots with 16 shots on goal, while opponents have totaled 80 shots and 40 shots on target.
Loveveer Kullar leads the Badgers with one goal and two points. Gabriel Lebron has recorded one assist.
Jose Lozano Soto has seen the majority of the action in goal for Spring Hill, recording 17 saves with a .708 save percentage and a 2.13 goals-against average. Cole Osborne has added three saves in 64:03 of action.
Series History
West Alabama leads the all-time series against Spring Hill, 7-3-1. The Tigers won last season's meeting 1-0 in Livingston.
The Tigers are 3-1-1 all-time on the road against the Badgers and have gone 4-0-1 in the last five meetings between the two programs.
