UWA Baseball and Softball Delayed

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Due to rain overnight and early Saturday morning, the University of West Alabama baseball and softball teams have delayed the starts their Saturday action. The softball team take the field at 2:00 p.m. with baseball starting at 3:00 p.m. 

The UWA baseball team is scheduled to conclude its three game weekend series with West Florida. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN 104.9 FM and at www.uwaathletics.com. Live stats and a live video stream will also be available on UWA's official athletic website. The Red and White and UWF split the Friday doubleheader with UWA claiming game one 6-4 and falling 10-7 in the night cap.

The Tiger softball team hosts No. 2 Valdosta State on Saturday, April 3. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. Prior to Saturday's twinbill, the Tigers will recognize their newest member of the ballclub. UWA has teamed up with the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit organization that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families. FOJ matches a child in need of love, support and friendship with a college or high school sports team based on geographic basis. Ella Norris, a native of Thomasville, Ala. will be officially adopted by the Tigers on Saturday. Earlier this week, Ella and the Tigers enjoyed a day at the Birmingham Zoo. Ella is two years old and is the daughter of Caleb and Tamara Norris.
