Tiger Basketball Set for Tough Competition at Legends Classic

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama men's basketball team (1-3) returns to the TicketCity Legends Classic this Thanksgiving weekend as the squad heads to Lewisburg, Pa., to face three NCAA Division I opponents in the final rounds of the early-season tournament.

Head Coach Mike Newell's team faces three recent NCAA Tournament competitors when West Alabama faces Morehead State, Bucknell, and Princeton in three games in three days.

The Tigers start with a talented Morehead State team on Friday at 2:30 p.m. CT. Earning an NCAA Tourney berth a season ago, the Eagles defeated Louisville before falling to Richmond in the second round a year ago. MSU currently sits at 1-3 overall after falling to West Virginia, North Carolina State, and the College of Charleston.

UWA then faces off with host-school Bucknell on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. CT, before squaring off with Princeton on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT. The Bison enter Saturday's contest with a 2-2 record after falling to Minnesota and Vanderbilt to start the year. Meanwhile, the tradition-rich Princeton program comes into Sunday's affair at 1-3 overall.

The Red and White come into the weekend with a 1-3 record after falling to Carver Bible by a score of 95-72 at Pruitt Hall last Friday night. UWA is led by junior guard Jared Wollfolk who averages a team-high 14 points per game.

Following this weekend's Thanksgiving festivities, UWA returns home to face Columbus State on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m.
