LIVINGSTON, Ala. – In a rematch of a game played on Nov. 30, the University of West Alabama men's basketball team (1-6) seeks to avenge a tight 68-66 loss to Columbus State when the squad travels to Columbus, Ga., Saturday to take on the Cougars. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m.
In the previous meeting between these two teams, CSU forward Darius McKnight streaked down the lane with six seconds remaining to lay in a shot and put his squad up for good in the 68-66 thriller. The loss gave UWA its sixth-straight on the season, while pushing Columbus State to 3-1 on the year.
Since that meeting the Tigers have had over a week off, while Columbus State has dropped two-straight. The Cougars lost their second game of the season against West Georgia, before falling to Montevallo, 64-58.
For the season, UWA is led by junior forward
Ryan Fitch who averages just over 13 points per game, while
Jared Woolfolk paces the team behind the arc, with 13 made three-pointers on the year.
Following Saturday's affair, the Tigers return home to face Martin Methodist on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 5:30 p.m., before making the trek to Stephenville, Texas to take on Tarleton State on Dec. 19.
