The most anticipated matchup of the 2013 Gulf South Conference Football season is just one day away.

All eyes will be on Livingston, Ala., this Thursday when defending NCAA Champion and No. 1 ranked Valdosta State travels to defending GSC Champion and No. 14 West Alabama for game seven of the GSC-TV LIVE Game of the Week package.

Last year, the rivals split a pair of contests in Valdosta with UWA earning a 39-28 regular-season decision before VSU ended the Tigers' season in the Second Round of the Division II Playoffs, 49-21.  West Alabama snapped the Blazers' 24-game series streak in the lone GSC-TV meeting between the schools in 2010 at UWA, 24-21.

Saturday's slate is headlined by the only other Conference battle this week when North Alabama hopes to celebrate its Homecoming versus West Georgia.  Provisional member Shorter seeks its first win of the season when No. 18 South Atlantic Conference foe Carson-Newman comes to town.  Florida Tech also steps out of GSC action, traveling to in-state NAIA rival Ave Maria.
