BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – West Alabama sophomore goalkeeper Brad Louis was named the Gulf South Conference Men's Soccer Defender of the Week on Tuesday, marking the second Tiger goalie to earn the honor this season.

Louis guided the Tigers to two GSC wins last week. The Birmingham, Ala. native made three saves and allowed just one goal through over 184 minutes of action. He completed two saves to shutout West Florida on Sunday and improves to 3-3 in the net this season.

West Alabama men's soccer is one of three teams to have already clinched a place in the upcoming 2015 GSC tournament. The Tigers are 7-5-2 overall and are in second place in the league standings at 6-1-1, behind Alabama Huntsville at 7-1.

UWA has only two matches remaining in the regular season and only one conference match left. The Tigers will return to action on Sunday to take on non-conference opponent Montevallo, before closing the season at UAH on Oct. 30.
