Tiger Wranglers Riding Wave of Success Heading to Three Rivers

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – On the heels of back-to-back wins for the University of West Alabama women's rodeo team and a men's team gradually healing from a rash of injuries, the Tiger Wranglers are optimistic as they head to Polar Springs, Missouri this weekend for the Baldwin Automotive Raider Rodeo hosted by Three Rivers College.

The West Alabama women lead the Ozark Region with 735 points, 65 ahead of second place Arkansas-Monticello. The UWA men are fifth in the region, which is currently led by Tennessee Martin.

"I am very pleased with the way we are competing every week," UWA head coach Alex Caudle said. "Even though there is always room to improve, you have to be proud of back-to-back wins by the women. I believe as we continue to get well we are going to keep climbing on the guy's side."

Kesia Smith leads the Ozark Region in goat tying and Marlee Malcom is first in breakaway roping as the Tiger Wranglers hold 10 top 10 places in various events. Smith is also seventh in breakaway roping.

Ali Ayers is third in the region in barrel racing and Cole Watkins is third as a team roping header. Witt Pierce is fourth as a team roping heeler and 8^th in tie down roping. Lucas Brown and Jason Garcia are fifth and ninth, respectively, as heelers.

Chrissy Morris rounds out the Tiger Wranglers currently holding down top 10 region spots with a ninth place in breakaway roping.
