Tigers Return to Action for UT Martin Rodeo in Martin, Tennessee

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama rodeo team returns to action at UT Martin's home rodeo in Martin, Tennessee, beginning Thursday.

West Alabama's men's team has climbed to No. 12 in the country and remains second in the region after posting 590 points at Pearl River CC's rodeo. The UWA women's team looks to rebound after not recording a score in its last outing.

12TH RANKED MEN'S RODEO

West Alabama has finished second in six consecutive rodeos. With consistent performances throughout the season, the Tigers have positioned themselves to contend for another Ozark Region title or a reserve championship. UWA enters the weekend with 3,710 points, trailing Missouri Valley College by 1,625 points while holding a 1,815-point lead over EMCC.

Tanner Brown continues to lead the Tigers, as the senior ranks second in the region in the all-around standings with 940 points. In the last rodeo, Brown earned 60 points in team roping alongside partner Clarke Gordon. The duo remains the top team roping tandem in the region. Teigan Orr and Grey Wells are also finding their rhythm, leading the Tigers with 135 points in their most recent competition.

In tie-down roping, Kota Wilhite and Brown rank second and third in the region with 410 and 380 points, respectively. Wilhite enters the weekend after winning the event at Pearl River CC's rodeo with 140 points.

WOMEN'S RODEO

West Alabama enters the weekend third in the region with 1,113 points on the season.

At Pearl River CC's rodeo, Darby Toole, Andi Norwood, Gabbie Hayes, and Aubrey Mills advanced to the championship round. Toole and Norwood combined for 95 points, while Hayes added 100 points. Mills contributed 40 points to round out UWA's scoring.

Sydney Poole leads the team with 508.33 points on the year. She has recorded 318.3 points in breakaway roping and 190 points in barrel racing. Allie Sherman has been the Tigers' top barrel racer, with 310 points in the event. Norwood ranks fifth in the Ozark Region in breakaway roping with 195 points.

With the regular season entering its final month, West Alabama looks to build momentum as championship competition approaches.

UT Martin's rodeo begins Thursday and concludes Saturday.
