UWA Tennis Signs Henrik Sinkko

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Henrik Sinkko of Finland has signed a scholarship to play his collegiate tennis at the University of West Alabama, according to an announcement today by head coach Jeff Beaman.

"Henrik is a great addition to our men's team for this spring, bringing both depth and talent," Beaman said. "There are not a lot of players going into college that have already had a world pro rank, so it is great to have him join us at UWA."

Sinkko, a right-hander who began playing tennis at age 5, has been ranked as high as No. 3 in Finland for both 16 and 18 under. He had a 1635 ATP ranking while playing as an amateur and 885 is his highest International Tennis Federation world junior ranking.

With Sinkko on board, the Tiger men's tennis roster expands to six players. He is the first male player singed by Beaman.
