Stephen Carroll and
Patrick Carroll each netted two goals, and
AJ Williams picked up his fourth score on the season as West Alabama men's soccer defeated Peach Belt Conference-opponent USC Aiken 5-2 on Monday.
The Tigers improve to 2-3 on the season, while the Pacers fall to 1-4.
"We are very pleased to beat a very talented USC Aiken side on their home field," UWA head coach
Matthew Thorne said. "As a team, we are never happy to concede goals, but I was proud to see the character of the lads bounce back after Aiken tied it up."

AJ Williams put West Alabama ahead 1-0 in the 14
th minute after
Stephen Carroll crossed the ball in from the right side, allowing Williams to finish from 10 yards out.
Three minutes later, the Pacers drew the match level at 1-1 on a goal from Adria Dalmau. Rodrigo Goncalves and Andre Simmond each picked up an assist on the goal.
UWA's
Patrick Carroll broke the tie six minutes before the half, netting his first goal of the season after a blocked shot bounced his way to set up the scoring opportunity.
Yann Martinez earned the assist on Carroll's goal as the Tigers went up 2-1.
A corner kick from USC Aiken's Andre Simmond allowed Nathan Shanko to tie the match once more at 2-2, after Shanko's header found the back of the net in 51
st minute.
Seventeen seconds later,
Patrick Carroll picked up the game-winner on his second goal of the match, putting the Tigers ahead for good with an assist from
Stephen Carroll to give UWA a 3-2 advantage.
Stephen Carroll extended West Alabama's lead to 4-2 in the 52
nd minute on a
Keegan McQueen assisted header.

th minute after moving the ball from the right side of the field and hitting Carroll up the middle, allowing Carroll to score his second goal of the night and third on the season to give the Tigers a final 5-2 lead.
"To score five goals away from home shows how dangerous we can be with the correct approach," Thorne said, "We still have a way to go to reach our potential, but I feel we are going on the right track."
Brad Louis (1-3) earned the win, making one save on 10 shots faced. Jesse Rooker (0-1) took the loss, giving up two goals before coming out the game at the end of the first half.
West Alabama will return home to Tiger Stadium, facing off against Union on Friday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
