Annual Baseball Showcase Postponed to Nov. 16

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Due to heavy rain in the University of West Alabama vicinity over the last few days, the annual University of West Alabama Fall Baseball Prospect Showcase, which had been scheduled for Nov. 2 at Tartt Field, has been moved to Nov. 16.

The Showcase is for high school freshmen, sophomore, juniors and seniors, as well as junior college players who have exhausted their eligibility. The cost of the session is $50 for players who register early at https://www.uwa.edu/showcase. Registration will be available at the door on the morning of Nov. 16 but will be $75.
 
Prospective players should bring a glove, cap, bat, tennis shoes, baseball spikes and wear baseball pants and shorts. Catchers should bring their gear.

Day-of registration begins at 9 a.m. on Nov,. 16 and the Showcase gets underway at 10 a.m. The event will be a pro style showcase, with timing in the 60-yard dash, along with outfield, infield and catcher throwing drills. Pitchers will throw live batting practice if possible.

All participants must complete a UWA Prospect Tryout Form (PDF) before participating. Participants are encouraged to print and completely fill out the form and bring it with them to the Showcase. Forms will also be available at the event.

All participants must have written proof (copy) of a medical physical that has been taken in the last six months. Participants must also have proof of sickle cell testing or be willing to sign a waiver (provided).
