#17 Men's Basketball

Tiger Madness 2019 Coming Soon

LIVINGSTON, Ala.– Free pizza, shooting and slam dunk contests, as well as the opportunity to win assorted prizes, highlight the 2019 Tiger Madness event set for 8 p.m. Monday, October 14 at Pruitt Hall Gymnasium on the UWA campus. Admission is free.

Doors will open at 7:30 p.m., with free pizza, plus prizes for UWA students who can meet the challenges during the event. Students and fans will be able to participate in a game of Knockout as the event starts.

In addition to the popular men's basketball slam dunk contest, one of the highlights of the event is a four-team shooting contest featuring players from both the women and men's team, a UWA student and a member of the UWA faculty/staff or local community.

The UWA Side Court Posse, the UWA Cheerleaders and the night's emcee Elaine Field will provide entertainment during and in-between events.

UWA students and basketball fans will be introduced to both men's coach Allen Sharpe and women's coach Rusty Cram, along with their teams and staff, shortly after the evening's activities get underway.

Women's basketball and Men's basketball will each participate in unique drills just before the dunk contest for fans to get a glimpse of how the teams look in action. A musical chairs contest for student-athletes from other sports will also take place prior to the shooting and slam dunk events.

The UWA women's team opens the regular season Nov. 3 against NCAA Division I opponent Alabama A&M in Pruitt Hall. The men's team opens the regular season Nov. 9 hosting Eckerd College as part of the Gulf South Conference/Sunshine State Conference Classic.
