#14 Men's Rodeo

UWA Rodeo Showdown Set for September 24-26; Fall Schedule Announced

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Tiger Wrangler head coach Daniel Poole has announced that one of the highlights of campus life at the University of West Alabama during the fall, the Annual University of West Alabama Rodeo Showdown, will be held Sept. 24-26 at the Don C. Hines Rodeo Complex.

The annual UWA Showdown is one of five scheduled college rodeos on the Ozark Region slate of events for Fall 2020.

The Tigers will open the fall schedule Sept. 17-19 at the Missouri Valley College Rodeo, followed by the UWA Showdown, the Three Rivers Rodeo on Oct. 15-17, the Southern Arkansas Rodeo on Oct. 29-31 and the Murray State Rodeo Nov. 19-21.

The West Alabama men finished third in the pandemic-shortened Ozark Region standings in 2019-20, while the women were fifth. Missouri Valley won both the men's and women's region titles.

Three Tiger Wranglers, Heather McLaughlin, Ryder Ladner and Chase Graves, qualified for the 2020 College National Finals Rodeo, but did not compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

McLaughlin finished the 2019-20 season as the Ozark Region's Women's All-Around Champion and Reserve Breakaway Champion. Ladner was Men's All-Around Champion and Team Roping Header Champion while finishing third in Steer Wrestling. Graves finished Ozark Region competition as Team Roping Heeler Champion.
