#16 Men's Tennis

Tiger Tennis Nationally Ranked in Both ITA Polls

MESA, Ariz. – Both the men's and women's tennis teams at West Alabama continue to be ranked in the latest ITA National Division II Top 25, with the women climbing five spots to No. 16 and the men dropping two positions to No. 22.

"I am pleased that both our teams are in the national rankings. It's a tribute to the kids on both teams," Tiger head coach Jeff Beaman said. "Our women have been playing really well over the last couple of weeks, but the men's team has to find some consistency as we move forward."

Moving forward for both teams means stepping up against some hefty competition over the next couple of weeks.

Both teams play the University of Indianapolis on Tuesday at a neutral site in Pensacola, Florida. The Indianapolis women are the top-ranked team in the nation and the men are ranked No. 4. On Thursday both Tiger teams will face Southwest Baptist in neutral site matches in Montgomery. The SBU women are currently No. 7 in the land and the men are 25th.

On March 23 the Tigers travel back to Pensacola for men and women's matches against a pair of top 10 West Florida teams. The Argonaut men are ranked No. 5 nationally and the women are No. 6.

Sandwiched between the matches against nationally-ranked teams is a March 20 Gulf South Conference matchup at Lee.
