LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference softball series between West Alabama and Lee University dates remain the same but the times have been shifted due to potential inclement weather this weekend.
The weekend series begins with a doubleheader Friday now starting at 2 p.m. at UWA Softball Complex, followed by a Saturday single game at 2 p.m.
The Tigers are 13-18 overall and 9-15 in GSC play.
UWA hitters are led by freshman Peyton Coots hitting .383 and junior Cassie Matlock with a .349 batting average.
The Tigers top pitchers are Kacy Noland, Hannah Mynard, and Breanna Fortenberry. Noland (6-8) has pitched a total of 71 innings with a 3.94 earned runs average and has 37 strikeouts. Mynard (1-2) has pitched 30.2 innings with a 6.16 ERA, while striking out 16. Fortenberry (2-1) has pitched a total of 26 innings with a 4.04 ERA, while striking out four.Â
The Flames come to Livingston with a 13-16 overall record, 10-11 in the conference.
Lily Hatcher leads the Lee hitters with a .390 batting average, followed by Taylor De Adder hitting .379.
The Lady Flames top pitcher is Madison Barnett (4-5). She has pitched a total of 61.1 innings with a 5.59 ERA, while striking out 52.

There is no admission charge for softball in 2021, but fans are expected to comply with pandemic protocols for facial coverings and social distancing.
Concessions will be available at UWA Softball Complex this season; however, due to pandemic precautions, there will only be prepackaged items available.Â
