Expected Inclement Weather Forces Football Kickoff Game Time to 2 p.m.

PENSCACOLA, Fla. – With late afternoon and early evening thunderstorms expected in the area on Saturday, the kickoff time for the Gulf South Conference football game between No. 9 West Florida and West Alabama has been shifted to 2 p.m. central time at Pen Air Field on the UWF campus.

Despite the original 4 p.m. kickoff time, both institutions and the GSC league office believe that moving the kickoff time forward is in the best interest of both student-athlete and fan safety. The shift should also alleviate the possibility of lightning delays that could delay conclusion of the contest at a reasonable time.

The game will still be available for viewing at FloSports and will be carried on SLY 104.9 for Tiger fans with Will Atkinson and Rob Pearson handling the play-by-play and color analyst duties, respectively. Live stats are available through UWF Athletics.

West Alabama comes into the game with a 4-4 overall record, 2-3 in GSC play. West Florida is 6-1 and 4-1. The Argos bring a four-game winning streak into the matchup, while the Tigers are looking to snap a two-game skid.

Tickets are available HERE through the UWF Athletics web site. Reserved home side seats are $30, General admission bleachers and visitor seating are $20.
