Men’s Cross Country Team Finished Ninth at GSC Championship Meet

MONTEVALLO, Ala. - West Alabama men's cross country team wrapped up the 2022 season with a ninth place finish at the Gulf South Conference Championship meet at Cross Country Course.

Dancan Kibet led the way for UWA and placed 36th out of 98 runners. Kibet stopped the clock at 25:53.00.

There were 12 teams that competed in the 8k event. Lee won the meet with four runners finishing in the top-ten. Mississippi College was second, followed by Alabama Huntsville, Montevallo in third, and Valdosta State rounding out the top-five.

There were 97 runners and 12 teams in the women's 5K race. Lee won the race on the women's side. Mississippi College was second, followed by Alabama Huntsville in third, Auburn Montgomery in fourth, and West Florida rounding out the top-five.
