LIVINGSTON, Ala. - After leading the University of West Alabama Men's Cross Country team to a win at the Firehawk Invitational this past weekend, Lorenzo Pelusi has been named the GSC Freshman of the Week.

Pelusi led UWA to a first place finish at the Firehawk Invitational as the freshman placed ninth individually with a 26:08.9 time in the 8K event. Pelusi's time was second amongst the Tigers that competed, with Mathis Breton finishing fifth with a 26:01.7 time.

Through three meets this season, Pelusi has registered times of 25:58.6, 26:09.0, and now 26:08.9, marking a fantastic start to his collegiate career.

Pelusi and West Alabama are off this week but will be back in action on Saturday, October 4 for the Chile Pepper XC Festival.
