BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - West Alabama men's basketball member Shardarrion Allen has been named Gulf South Conference Player of the Week based on his performance against West Florida on February 3 and Valdosta State on February 5.

Allen is the second leading scorer for the Tigers, averaging 13.4 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game. 

The Bolton, Miss. native, scored 26 points and had nine rebounds in the 59-57 win against Valdosta State. The junior forward also had 12 points and four boards in the 79-69 victory over West Florida.

Allen and the rest of the Tigers return to action Wednesday, Feb. 9, when they head to Rome, Ga. to battle Shorter. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. inside Winthrop-King Centre.
