Tiger Softball is Set to Host West Florida

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama softball team is set to host West Florida in a Gulf South Conference three-game home series beginning on Friday at UWA Softball Complex. 

UWA will open the series against the Argonauts with a doubleheader on Friday at 3 p.m. The single game on Saturday is slated for 1 p.m. 

The Tigers are 12-9 heading into the weekend and 4-2 in GCS play. The Argonauts are 14-3 overall and 9-0 in conference. 

First baseman Kacy Noland is leading the Tigers with a .403 batting average. She has 65 at bats, 25 hits, three doubles, one triple, two home runs, 16 RBIs, and scored 15 runs.

Following Noland is outfielder Cassie Matlock hitting .389. She has 54 at bats, 21 hits, four doubles, one triple, eight RBIs, and scored 12 runs.

Hannah Mynard (6-2) is leading the pitchers with a 3.14 ERA. The Enterprise, Ala. native has scattered 47 hits and allowed 20 runs over 57.1 innings. She has struck out 48 and walked 29 this season. 

Teala Howard leads the Argonaut hitters with a .459 batting average. She has 28 hits, three doubles, two triples, two home runs, seven RBIs, and 17 runs scored.

Both live stats and live stream are available for the series. Janet Montgomery is going on for play-by-play on Friday, but will not be calling the game on Saturday.

There is no admission charge for the softball games. Concessions will be available at UWA Softball Complex.
