Track and Field Opens Season at Mississippi College

CLINTON, Miss. - West Alabama's Track and Field team opens its spring season on Saturday at the Mississippi College Outdoor Season Opener at the James E. Parkman Track.

West Alabama is one of the 33 teams competing in the meet on Saturday. A full list of teams can be found here.

UWA will have 16 athletes competing on the women's side, while the men's team will have 17.

Running events are on a rolling schedule. The women will compete first, followed by the men. The 1000-meter run will be the first running event at 9:00 a.m. Field events will begin promptly at 10 a.m. starting with women's long jump, men's triple jump, men's shot put, and women's discus.

Mississippi College and Christian Brothers are the only other two teams that will represent the Gulf South Conference.
