Track and Field Results at Flames Invitational

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – West Alabama track and field had 13 top 10 finishes at the Flames Invitational on the campus of Lee University on Friday and Saturday despite the tough weather conditions.

"The team competed hard this weekend. They fought through the elements and were mentally challenged," head track and field coach Kirby Patterson Walker said. "It was good to see their competitive spirit and we will take the time over the next couple of weeks to train and prepare for another big weekend of competition."

Kaitlin Hill placed first in the women's long jump with a jump of 5.80-meters. Annaya Chelcy, Myflore Methelus, Kaylen Johnson, and Hill finished first in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 47.09.

The women's 100-meter dash saw four different Tigers place in the top ten with Hill finishing second with a time of 12.04. Methelus placed sixth, Chelcy placed seventh, and Johnson came in ninth.

Chelcy finished eighth in the women's 200-meter dash. Zavannah Brown placed ninth in the women's 400-meter hurdle.

On the men's side, Camrun Norman placed second in the men's high jump with a jump of 6.67-meters. Norman also placed 10^th in the men's long jump. James Woods placed seventh in the long jump.

Brayden Harris placed seventh in the men's 110-meter hurdles.

The Tiger Track and Field team returns to action on April 22 at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Ga.
