Gary Rundles to be Inducted into Carson-Newman Hall of Fame

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The University of West Alabama's head baseball coach Gary Rundles will be inducted into the Carson-Newman Athletics Hall of Fame on January 20, 2023. 
 
Rundles coached the Eagles from 1985-2000, reaching the NCAA Division II College World Series in 1999 and the NAIA World Series in 1993. 
 
Rundles won six South Atlantic Conference Championships and made four NCAA or NAIA postseason appearances. 
 
During the 1999 season, Rundles led the Eagles to a 42-14-2 record and was named South Atlantic Conference, NCAA South Regional, and Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Coach of the Year. 
 
Rundles earned conference coach of the year honors on six occasions during his time leading the Eagles. 
 
Since coming to Livingston in 2001, Rundles has won two Gulf South Conference Championships and has made six NCAA Division II Regional appearances. He has earned 1,029 victories as a head baseball coach and has coached in 1,713 games. 
 
Rundles is a member of the UWA Athletics Hall of Fame, Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, Central (Tenn.) High School Hall of Fame, and Greater Chattanooga Area Sports Hall of Fame.
