Collin Scott and Brett Weeks Join UWA Baseball Staff

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama head baseball coach Gary Rundles has announced the addition of Collin Scott and Brett Weeks as graduate assistant coaches.
 
"We are very excited to add Collin Scott and Brett Weeks to our staff, they bring a ton of energy and quality coaching experience that's not the standard for a GA," Rundles said. Our program and players will benefit tremendously having them here and I cannot wait to watch them develop as a coach."
 
"Collin will be working with the outfielders, assist with hitting, and base running. Brett's duties will be working with the catchers and assisting with the pitching staff," Rundles said.
 
Collin Scott
Collin Scott is originally from Richmond, Ohio, where he graduated from Edison High School.
 
Scott played collegiate baseball at the University of Mount Union and had a career batting average of .300. He was part of the Raiders' team that won the 2017 Ohio Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship.
 
He played his final season at Franciscan University in 2020 and earned a degree in sport management.
 
Scott has two seasons coaching under his belt as he coached the 2021 season at Franciscan as the hitting coach. Seven of the nine starters were named to the All-Presidents' Athletic Conference Team.
 
In 2022, Scott coached at Bethany College and worked with the offense and recruiting.
 
During the summer of 2021, Scott was the hitting and main assistant coach for the Strasburg Express in the Summer Valley Baseball League. He helped lead them to a SVBL Championship.
 
Brett Weeks
Brett Weeks joins the coaching staff after being an assistant coach at Escambia High School and Tate High School in Pensacola, Florida. He has coached over 20 athletes that played at the collegiate level and two MLB Draft picks.
 
Weeks played at Northview High School in Century, Florida and pitched 30 innings leading his team to the school's first ever regional championship and Final Four appearance.
 
Following high school, Weeks played for Jefferson Community College and made 22 appearances on the mound. He recorded one save and struck 20 batters out.
