LIVINGSTON, Ala.- The University of West Alabama Men's and Women's Soccer teams will be taking on the Postseason this weekend as they prepare to take part in the Gulf South Conference Soccer Championship Tournament.
The Women will travel to Pensacola on Saturday to take on the number one seed West Florida Argos on their home pitch. The Tigers faced off with the Argos just six days ago in Pensacola where the Tigers were defeated 1-0.
The Women finished as the eight seed in the GSC after a 2-1 victory over Spring Hill on Sunday helped punch their ticket to the postseason.
The Men will face off against Lee University Inside Tiger Stadium in Livingston on Sunday, November 5th at 3 pm. The Tigers finished as the two seed in the tournament after a wild last weekend of play in the conference, clinching a home quarterfinal game. "Lee is obviously a very good team. It just goes to show how strong our conference is as they've been at the top of our league consistently the last few years." said West Alabama team captain Shane Pettit. "It's playoff time, you know? These are the kind of games you dream about being a part of." Said co-captain Richard Lopez.
The Tigers tied with Lee 1-1 in their regular season matchup inside Tiger Stadium on September 15th.
