Men’s Tennis Defeats No. 21 Southern Arkansas

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – West Alabama men's tennis team defeats No. 21 Southern Arkansas 4-1 in a non-conference match Sunday afternoon at Live Oaks Tennis Courts.

"A great win for the men against a team that is one of the toughest team today at their place in D2," head coach Jeff Beaman said.

The Tigers improve to 3-2 overall.

In singles play, UWA won on courts No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4. Marcel Hornung got the first singles point of the day on court No. 2, 6-4, 6-4. Nutti Jokinen defeated SCU's Tim Fischer on court No. 3, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 to secure the second singles point. Wilson Igbinovia won his court, clinching the match for the Tigers overall score.

IIari Vesenan and IIia Dehodiuk defeated SCU's Matthew Tennant and Adrian Gheorge on court No. 2, 6-4. Nutti Jokinen and Wilson Igbinobia defeated SCU's Mathieu Wierniezky and Ole Valkyser on court No. 3, 6-4 to claim the doubles point.
