Tigers Tied at No. 20 in D2SIDA National Media Poll

NEW CASTLE, Del. - West Alabama men's basketball team is tied at No. 20 in week 15 of the Division II Sports Information Directors Association (D2SIDA) National Media Poll. The Tigers are 24-5 overall and 19-5 in GSC play.

UWA defeated Valdosta State 82-72 and West Florida 75-66 this past weekend to close out the regular season. With the wins, the Tigers were named the 2023 GSC Regular Season Co-Champions.

As a unit, UWA averages 73.3 points per game. The Tigers' defense leads the GSC, holding its opponent to 62.1 points per game. UWA's scoring margin is 11.2 points per game.

Four Tigers average double figures for UWA. Shardarrion Allen leads the Tigers' offense with 14.1 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game. Justin Allison averages 13.5 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, and 3.1 assists per game. Terry Durham averages 12.6 points per game and pulls down 7.4 boards per game. Kuran Garner averages 11.8 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game

The Tigers take on the No. 3 seed Lee University on Saturday in the semifinals round of the GSC Championship Tournament. Tip-off is set for 7:15 p.m. inside Pete Hanna Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
