Men’s Rodeo Takes Third Place in PRCC Rodeo, Women Finish Fourth

POPLARVILLE, Miss. – The West Alabama men's Tiger Wranglers competed in the Pearl River Community College Rodeo at the Pear River County Fairgrounds in the three-day event, that concluded on Saturday night.

"I was proud of our guys for performing more up to their capabilities," head coach Daniel Poole said. "I could had done some things different so that we placed higher up."

The West Alabama men compiled 370 points to run away with third place. The Tiger women scored 95 points to place fourth.

Clay Livengood, dominated in tie down roping thanks to a 10.4 in the first round and 9.1 in the short go with a finish of 125 points. Kota Wilhite tied for third with a finish of 80 points.

Tiger wrangler, Chase Graves dominated in steer wrestling with a finish of 170 points. The next contestant was 40 points behind. Addition to Graves big win, Whilhite finished fourth.

Bethany Stallons dominated in breakaway roping and took the overall win with a finish of 145 points. The next contestant was 30 points behind.

Heather McLaughlin finished finish of 55 points in goat tying placing fifth. Raven Clagg, finished fifth in barrel racing.

"It wasn't our strongest rodeo, but we are still proud of the direction our women's team is heading," Poole said.
