Women’s Tennis Ranks No. 6 in ITA National Tennis Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the NCAA Division II Tennis National Team, Singles, and Doubles Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point. The Tigers are ranked No. 6.

In doubles play, Haina Franco and Ming Deewajee ranked No. 21. Franco also ranked No. 34 in singles. Heden Ly ranked No. 52 and Yurie Takanishi ranked No. 53.

A complete list of the poll can be viewed here.

"Our women lost to the No. 1, No.2, and No. 4 teams last week at their place," head coach Jeff Beaman said. "I probably scheduled a tough week, with driving all over Florida, four matches in five days, and level of competition we were facing."

"Being ranked Top Ten is well deserved," Beaman said.

The Tigers are 15-5 overall and 9-0 in GSC play.

"Huge match coming up for Senior Day against No. 24 Mississippi College," Beaman said. "The women will fight to try and win their fourth consecutive undefeated regular season GSC title."

The Tigers will be back on the court for a GSC match against Mississippi College. The first serve is set for 2 p.m. at Vaughan Tennis Complex.
