LIVINGSTON, Ala.- Men's Soccer Goalkeeper
Lasse Schwieren has been awarded Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Week after a stellar outing against the Florida Southern Mocs.
Schwieren recorded 8 saves in the match, including a crucial penalty kick save that kept the Tigers in striking distance of a win. Scwieren worked overtime protecting the goal late, with the men being short handed after the 78th minute.
Schwieren's final save in the 88th minute of the match allowed West Alabama to clinch a gritty 2-1 victory over Florida Southern on the road in Hunstville.
Schwieren and the Tigers will be back in action Friday night in Livingston, as the Tigers take on Lee in their GSC opener. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
