LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Men's Soccer Program picked up a pair of postseason awards on Wednesday as Timon Dressel and Ellis Williamson were named Second Team All-GSC.

As a true freshman, Dressel picks up the first postseason award of his career after putting together a sensational season in goal for the Tigers. Dressel started all 15 games for West Alabama and registered 67 saves which put him second in the conference in that catergory. The freshman faced a total of 238 shots this year and only allowed 23 of those shots to find the back of the net, recording a .744 save percentage. In UWA's five wins in 2024, Dressel was a brick wall in goal as he recorded a shutout in four of them which also sits as the second most in the GSC.

Coming off an All-Region selection last season, WIlliamson was a staple in the Tigers' lineup in 2024. The Defender started in 14 matches for West Alabama, accumulating 1,260 minutes. The senior anchored UWA's defense all season long and played a major role in the Tigers' shutting out four of their opponents this year. Along with his defensive prowess, Williamson also was a catalyst on the offensive side as he ended his 2024 campaign with two goals and two assists on his ledger, including a game-winning goal coming against Delta State back in October. With the addition of Second Team All-GSC in 2024, Williamson ends his collegiate career with an United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Region selection, a Division II Conference Commissioners Association Second Team All-Region selection, and an All-GSC First Team nod.

Williamson will now have the chance to extend his soccer career in the professional ranks while Dressel gears up for his sophomore campaign in 2025.
