LIVINGSTON, Ala. - After a standout performance this past weekend, the University of West Alabama Rodeo Program heads to Monticello, Arkansas for the University of Monticello at Arkansas Home Rodeo.

This weekend's Rodeo is set to begin on Thursday at 7:00 p.m., before concluding on Saturday night.

WOMEN'S RODEO
West Alabama enters the weekend after putting together their best performance of the season in Magnolia. The Tigers' won Southern Arkansas' rodeo with 265 points led by Allie Sherman's 150 point performance in the Barrel Racing event. Sherman is now the top Barrel Racer in the Region as the junior carries 250 total points on her ledger.

Sydney Poole built momentum in her last time out, making the Championship round in the Breakaway Roping event. The senior totaled 95 points and will look to keep climbing in Monticello in both the Breakaway Roping and Barrel Racing events. True Freshman, Andi Norwood continues to get acclimated to Collegiate Rodeo as she's coming off her first Short Round appearance in the Breakaway Roping. Norwood will be alongside Poole in that event once again this weekend.

UWA's win in Magnolia skyrocketed them up to No. 4 in the Region as they look to continue to climb this weekend.

MEN'S RODEO
Out of three Rodeos this season, the Tigers have finished within the top-two in two of them. West Alabama currently remains second in the Region and 20th in the country with 1,495 total points. 610 of those points came this past weekend where Kota Wilhite led the way with 130 points in the Tie Down Roping event. After his performance, Wilhite is now the Region leader in that event, totaling 270 points on the year.

Stone Reeves is one of the top Cowboys in the region as he brings a total of 425 points into Thursday, ranking second in the Ozark. Reeves has been electric in both the Tie Down Roping and Team Roping, teaming up with Sam McBride. As the Team Roping Header, McBride leads the Ozark by a wide margin with 255 points while Reeves commands order as the Heeler. The duo of Reeves and McBride recorded 115 points in the Team Roping this past weekend which was good enough for a top-three finish in the event.
