LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Women's Cross Country's Mercy Lomuria was named All-South Region on Monday.
Lomuria now adds an All-Region selection to a 2025 resume that consists of an All-GSC selection and a GSC Freshman of the Year recognition.
In her first year competing in Cross Country, Lomuria turned in four top-10 finishes, including a 10th place finish at the NCAA Division II South Regional which solidified her status as an All-Region selection.
In October, Lomuria placed sixth at the GSC Championships with a time of 21:14.4, making her a first team All-GSC selection and the conference's Freshman of the Year. The runner's top placement of the year came at the Falcon Classic back on September 12 as her 18:27.7 time in the 5K event was good enough for a third place finish.
Lomuria becomes the first UWA runner since Caren Bartuin in 2017 to make the All-Region team.
