LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Football team landed three players on the D2CCA All-Region team, with Elijah Guyton, Austin McCready, and Ben Newton receiving honors.

Guyton and McCready were named First Team while Newton garnered a Second Team recognition.

Guyton repeats as a First Team Honoree after putting together a near perfect season in 2025 as the Tigers' Placekicker. The redshirt junior nailed 91.7 (11-12) percent of his Field Goal attempts this year, while burying all 37 of his PATs. Guyton made six of seven Field Goals attempts from 30-55 yards with a career-long 51 yarder coming against Northeastern State in the season finale. On the year, the Placekicker totaled 70 points for UWA which ranked third in the GSC.

As for McCready, he earns a First Team All-Region nod in his first and only season in Division II Football. McCready held the starting Punter spot all season for West Alabama and recorded 42 punts for 1,843 yards. The Punter's average of 43.9 yards per attempt ranked fifth in the country while the Tigers' Net Punting average of 40.88 ranks third in all of Division II. Along with these numbers, the senior pinned opponents inside their own 20 yard line on 13 different occasions, while registering seven punts of 50 yards or more.

With earning First Team nods, Guyton and McCready will advance to the All-American ballot.

On the Offensive Line, Newton anchored the unit for UWA. Newton served as West Alabama's starting Center and was named a team captain by his teammates and coaches. The senior led an Offensive Line unit that anchored the Tigers to 198.6 rushing yards per game which led the GSC. UWA also was stout in pass protection as they only allowed nine sacks all year, putting them second in the GSC in that category.

Guyton and Newton are slated to return for the Tigers in 2026 while McCready has exhausted his collegiate eligibility.
