Men's Soccer Welcomes Talented Newcomers for 2025 Season

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama men's soccer program has announced its 2025 newcomer class, with a mix of freshmen and transfers from across the globe set to join the Tigers this fall. The group brings international experience, proven collegiate production, and a promising wave of young talent as UWA prepares for the upcoming Gulf South Conference campaign.

Between the posts, the Tigers add three new goalkeepers. Jacob Pyndell (Fr., Memphis, Tenn. / Memphis University School) begins his collegiate career after a standout prep career in Tennessee, while Charlie Walker (Sr., Whitstable, U.K. / Coker University) arrives with Division II experience, starting 14 matches in 2024 and recording 23 saves. Eli Lacey (Fr., Fort Walton Beach, Fla. / Fort Walton Beach) rounds out the group of new shot-stoppers.

Defensively, UWA introduces strong reinforcements, including Daniel Christensen (Jr., Philippines / Northwood University), who appeared in 12 matches last season, and Oisin Griffin (Gr., Ireland), who brings veteran leadership to the back line. The Tigers also welcome newcomers Luke Jovanovich (Fr., Birmingham, Ala. / Oak Mountain), Kyllian Sylla (Fr., France), and Clement Baron (Gr., France), each expected to add depth and versatility to the defensive unit.

The midfield group is bolstered by several international playmakers. Gabriel Capocci (Fr., Birmingham, Ala. / Oak Mountain) and Kyrylo Peregudov (Fr., Ukraine) bring creativity and technical skill, while Mark McGlynn (Jr., Ireland) and Benicio Aronow (Fr., Argentina) add an attacking presence and possession strength in the middle third.

Up front, UWA adds a wave of attacking options. Gonzalo Rawinad (Fr., Spain), Henry Donovan (Fr., England), and Jamie Tomlinson (Fr., England) highlight the international forward group, while local talent Sam Collins (Fr., Birmingham, Ala. / Oak Mountain) and Mitchel Waycott (Fr., Mauldin, S.C. / Mauldin) provide additional scoring depth.

This year's incoming class continues UWA's tradition of combining international talent with homegrown players, creating a roster that blends different styles of play. With several returners already anchoring the squad, the Tigers' newcomers are expected to make an immediate impact in both non-conference and Gulf South action.

The Tigers open their 2025 season on the road against Palm Beach Atlantic on September 4th at 6 p.m.
