LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Men's Basketball team made their first appearance in the NABC Coaches Poll Top-10, coming in at No. 9 in this week's release.
The Tigers moved up to ninth in the country, their highest ranking in School History, after handling AUM, 75-61, and Montevallo, 71-61, on the road this past weekend. 16 games into the season, West Alabama stands at 15-1 and remains unbeaten in GSC play at 10-0.
Along with their No. 9 national ranking, UWA also debuted in the Wayne Cavadi Top-10 Power Rankings this week, coming in at No. 10.
Statistically, the Tigers lead the country in three-point percentage as they're shooting 42.5 percent from beyond the arc. With BJ Brown Jr. running the offense, UWA is eighth in the nation in turnovers, averaging 10.1 turnovers per game.Â
Defensively, West Alabama is holding teams to 60.8 points per game which ranks fourth in the country. 11 of the Tigers' 15 wins have come by double figures, putting their scoring margin at 20.5 which is the ninth best mark in the nation.Â
Individually, Christian Thompson is currently ranked third in the country in rebounding with 11.4 boards per game while Brown Jr. ranks 14th in the country with 5.5 assists per game.
No. 9 West Alabama will return to action for a colossal matchup against UAH on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in Pruitt Hall.
