LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Football, Women's Soccer, and Men's Soccer teams were represented in the Fall GSC Academic teams.

Football's Elijah Guyton, Devin Arrington, Mason Hiller, Ben Newton, and Travon Nunn were selected while Women's Soccer Aileen Charles and Selis Demirci and Men's Soccer's Ronny Wakelin also picked up the honor.

FOOTBALL
Guyton adds yet another accolade to his resume. The Kicker picked up an GSC All-Academic acknowledgment after compiling a 3.88 GPA as a Business Management major. The Redshirt Junior graduated with his Bachelor's degree this past December after putting together an All-American campaign on the field.

Hiller notches the first GSC All-Academic honor of his young career after a phenomenal year in the classroom and on the field. The Sophomore Offensive Lineman earned a 3.44 GPA as an Exercise Science major while anchoring the Tigers' offensive line on the field. During the 2025 season, Hiller started all games for UWA and helped West Alabama to 198.6 rushing yards per game which led the GSC, leading to a Second Team All-GSC selection.

Newton served as the captain on the offensive line for the Tigers, starting at Center. The senior led a UWA offensive line unit that allowed the second least amount of sacks within the GSC. Newton was named First Team All-GSC and Second Team All-Region before concluding the Fall semester with a 3.39 GPA as a Sport Management major.

As for Arrington, he compiled a 3.34 GPA as an Exercise Science major and graduated with his Bachelor's degree in December. On the field, the Linebacker recorded 36.0 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sack, putting together the best season of his career. 

Nunn was a team captain for the 2025 season and now concludes his Football journey with a GSC All-Academic selection. The Linebacker missed a couple of games due to a knee injury but still finished the year with 28 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, and an interception. In the classroom, Nunn compiled a 3.23 GPA as a Finance major and graduated with his Bachelor's degree in December.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Charles earns back-to-back GSC All-Academic recognitions after putting together another complete season on the field and classroom. The senior started all 18 games and accumulated 1,543 minutes in 2025, helping the Tigers to an 11-4-3 overall record and a berth in the GSC Semifinals. In the classroom, Charles was perfect, compiling a 4.00 GPA as a Finance major which led to a GSC Champions Scholar Athlete acknowledgment.

Demirci put together a career performance in the 2025 campaign. On the field, the Midfielder scored a career-high 12 goals, which also led the GSC, along with a career-high 26 points. The senior scored seven game winning goals, leading West Alabama to the GSC Semifinals. In the classroom, Demirci accumulated a 3.51 GPA as an IDS major.

MEN'S SOCCER
Wakelin earns the first GSC All-Academic selection of his young career. In the 2025 season, Wakelin was named Second Team All-GSC after leading the Tigers in assists with six from his Midfielder position. In the classroom, Wakelin compiled a 3.72 GPA as a Finance major.

Along with UWA's eight GSC All-Academic selections, 90 UWA athletes made the GSC Honor Roll.
