Caeleb Bass Selected by the Houston Gamblers in UFL Free Agent Draft

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - Former University of West Alabama Football player, Caeleb Bass, was selected by the Houston Gamblers in the UFL Free Agent Draft on Wednesday night.

The Houston Gamblers are a professional American Football team that competes in the United Football League. The team is owned by Dwayne Johnson's Alpha Acquico and Fox Corporation while being coached by former Texas A&M head coach, Kevin Sumlin.

Bass is set to join the Gamblers after a stellar career with West Alabama. Throughout his career at UWA, Bass registered 78 catches, 937 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns across five seasons. The Tight End battled through injuries in 2023 and returned in 2024, by putting together the best season of his collegiate career. In the 2024 campaign, Bass recorded 30 receptions for 301 yards and four Touchdowns, leading to the second All-GSC selection of his career.

Bass' play in 2024 led to the Indianapolis Colts' inviting the Tight End to their Rookie Mini Camp after the conclusion of the 2025 NFL Draft. Less than a year later, Bass finds himself drafted by the Houston Gamblers and now gets ready to suit up for the 2026 season.
