LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama football team returns to Tiger Stadium on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. matchup against Monroe University as part of Senior Day and Hall of Fame Weekend.
West Alabama (5-4, 0-2 GSC) enters Saturday's contest following a hard-fought 28-24 loss to No. 17 Valdosta State last weekend. Meanwhile, Monroe (2-5) comes into the matchup after picking up a 54-20 victory over Keystone College.
The Tigers will look to bounce back in their final home game of the 2026 regular season, while honoring their senior class in front of the home crowd.
Offensively, West Alabama is averaging 22.8 points and 315.7 yards per game through nine contests. Quarterback
Luther Richesson continues to lead the Tigers' passing attack, totaling 1,800 passing yards and 14 touchdowns while completing 60.7 percent of his passes.
Brayden Jenkins leads the Tigers on the ground with 444 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Through the air,
Madixx Morris leads the receiving corps with 423 yards, while
TD Parker has recorded 322 receiving yards and a team-high four touchdown receptions.
Jaylon York has also been a consistent contributor, totaling 296 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Defensively, the Tigers have continued to create opportunities for the team, totaling 21 takeaways through their first nine games and maintaining a strong presence in the turnover battle.
Joseph Harper leads the defensive unit with 60 total tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
Kebian Gilmore and
Nate Thomason have also been key contributors at linebacker, while
Legend Doggett continues to make an impact in the secondary alongside
KC Bradford,
Chrissean Jones, and
Jamil Peterson.
Monroe enters Saturday's contest averaging 18.3 points and 277.1 yards per game. The Mustangs' offense is led by quarterback Zavry Ward, who has accounted for 983 passing yards and five touchdowns while adding 233 rushing yards and four scores on the ground.
Running back Lasean Sharp leads Monroe's rushing attack with 357 yards and three touchdowns. Through the air, Jamal Abdal-Khallaq leads the Mustangs with 146 receiving yards, while Libaan Aden has hauled in a team-high three receiving touchdowns.
Defensively, Monroe is allowing 30.7 points and 343.6 yards per game. Jarius Davis leads the Mustangs with 22 total tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss, while Gavin Rembert has recorded 22 tackles and two tackles for loss. Brandon Wilson has also made an impact up front, totaling four tackles for loss and two sacks.
West Alabama will look to close out its home schedule on a high note Saturday while celebrating its senior class and welcoming the 2026 Athletics Hall of Fame Class during Hall of Fame Weekend.
Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at Terry Bunn Field at Tiger Stadium.
