LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The No. 9 University of West Alabama baseball team continues its road swing this weekend, traveling to Memphis, Tennessee for a three-game Gulf South Conference series against Christian Brothers.
The series begins Friday, February 27th at 2 p.m., before concluding with a Saturday doubleheader on February 28th starting at 12 p.m.
The Tigers enter the weekend at 12-2 overall and 5-1 in GSC play, riding momentum from one of the best starts in program history.
A Balanced Attack
West Alabama has been one of the most complete teams in the conference through the first 14 games, hitting .301 as a team with 137 hits, 101 RBIs, and 11 home runs. The Tigers have also posted a .426 on-base percentage and have stolen 23 bases in 29 attempts.
Nick Wilson has been a force at the plate, batting .411 with three home runs and 19 RBIs while carrying a 1.109 OPS.
Rashad Robinson has matched that production with a .346 average, three home runs, 15 RBIs, and a perfect 8-for-8 mark on stolen base attempts, highlighted by a 1.135 OPS.
Hudson Walburn (.333, 11 RBIs) continues to provide consistency in the middle of the order, while
Kyle Blevins and
Aaron Wallace have combined for 15 RBIs.
Peyton Moss has been explosive in limited action, hitting .385 with a 1.192 OPS.
The Tigers' depth has been evident up and down the lineup, with 10 players hitting .280 or better in regular action.
Dominant Pitching Staff
On the mound, West Alabama owns a 3.46 team ERA with a 1.19 WHIP, limiting opponents to a .220 batting average while striking out 105 batters in 117 innings.
Thomas Kerby has led the rotation with a 1.02 ERA and a .155 opponent average across 17.2 innings.
Blake Westry (1.53 ERA) and
Colin Woodham (2.89 ERA) have provided steady outings, while
Baker Green has added quality innings in conference play.
Out of the bullpen,
Camden Lyke,
Beau Bryant,
Brodey Walker, and
Matthew Sheffield have yet to allow an earned run, giving the Tigers strong late-inning options.
Tyler Pierce has also been effective, posting a 3.18 ERA with nine strikeouts in 5.2 innings.
West Alabama has been sharp defensively, posting a .984 team fielding percentage with just eight errors in 14 games.
Hayes Alford anchors the infield with 108 chances and a .991 fielding percentage, while Wilson and Robinson remain flawless in their defensive opportunities.
Scouting Christian Brothers
Christian Brothers enters the weekend at 2-11 overall and 0-6 in GSC play. The Buccaneers are hitting .251 as a team, led by Charlie Wooten (.400), Isaac Lemanski (.349), and Jackson Licata (.295).
However, pitching has been a challenge for CBU, as the staff carries a 9.83 team ERA and has allowed 128 runs in 13 games. Cameron Olivo (2.08 ERA) and Kade Johnson (2.35 ERA) have been bright spots, but the Buccaneers have struggled to limit opposing offenses overall.

West Alabama leads the all-time series 32-7 against Christian Brothers and has gone 6-4 in its last 10 games played in Memphis. The Tigers won all three meetings during the 2025 series in Livingston and have claimed seven of the last 10 matchups overall.
