LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama men's and women's track and field teams return to action this weekend as they travel to the University of Montevallo to compete in the Falcon Classic. Competition is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. inside Lacrosse Stadium.
The Tigers are entering this meet with momentum after a strong showing at the Mississippi College Spring Classic to open the outdoor season. On the men's side, UWA finished seventh overall and eighth overall on the women's side while recording multiple podium finishes and several top 10 performances across both track and field events.
Several of those top performers will be key athletes to watch again this weekend. Dedric Hicks, who finished second-place in the men's shot put with a throw of 16.01 meters, is set to compete in the event again on Saturday. On the track, Jalen Green will look to build on his fourth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles as he returns to the event and is also scheduled to run on the men's 4x400-meter relay team.
For the women, Mercy Lomuria is scheduled to compete in the distance events after recording a top finish in the 5000 meters at the season opener. J'Da Williams will be a major contributor across multiple sprint events, competing in the women's 4x100-meter relay.
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Kilaya Lucien, Adria Burrell, Hayley Cook-Graham, and Jocelyn Randle will also be one to watch after finishing fourth in their last outing.
West Alabama will continue its outdoor season this weekend at the Falcon Classic hosted by the University of Montevallo. Events are scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday inside Lacrosse Stadium as the Tigers look to build on their early-season performance.
